Size guide

Please note that measurements are taken while garments are lying flat. All measurements are in inches. Certain items are pinned back to fit model (but it will be indicated when this is done.) Please read measurements carefully and please email lindsey@thefuturepaststudio.com for any fit questions you may have. At this time we do not accept returns for items that do not fit.

Taking your measurements

The best way to see if something will fit you is by comparing the measurements to something similarly shaped that you already own. Here are some tips for best taking your measurements:

  • Bust – measure around your chest at the fullest point of your bra cup.
  • Waist – measure around the smallest part of your waistline with one finger between your body and the measuring tape.
  • Hips – stand with your heels together, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
  • Rise – find a pair of pants that fit you well and measure from the top of the waistband to the crotch to compare measurements.
  • Inseam – Find a pair of pants that fit you well and measure from the crotch to the bottom hem.

Other notes

Please be aware that there might be some color variations between the actual items and the photos. we use both studio and natural lighting to try and best showcase the color of the item, but based on what screen the photo is being viewed on, the color might vary somewhat.

All of our items are vintage and second-hand which we find endearing and therefore well worn with love. Many items have been naturally over dyed and will have some uneven dye patterns. While this may sound like a flaw, this is actually what gives each piece its unique charm that makes us love vintage clothing and naturally dyed pieces so much. We do our best to note these characteristics in the description of each item, but may overlook small things from time to time.
