This vintage silk tee has been hand-painted and tie-dyed using organic Cutch and Madder Root. Cutch is a plant dye made from the wood of the Acacia Catechu tree. It is both a dyestuff and tanning agent and has been used in India since ancient times. Madder (Rubia tinctorum) is also one of the oldest and most frequently used traditional dyestuffs to achieve deep reds and oranges. This piece was revived in our San Francisco Studio. One-of-a-kind.

Vintage/second hand items may come with minor flaws due to pre loved wear. Plant dyed items are all done by hand and saturation patterns tend to not be uniform (which is a characteristic we LOVE). Please enjoy and appreciate this item with it's unique character. Vintage items are FINAL SALE. Please email lindsey@thefuturepaststudio for any questions regarding fit or condition.
